Turn off automatic updates in OS X Mavericks

If you remember the June keynote, there was talk about a feature that will be integrated into the two new Apple operating systems, that is, both on iOS and OS X Mavericks No more notifications about the different program updates, now everything will be updated automatically by default.

On the other hand, I do not think that this is convenient, mainly because there will be programs that release updates that may worsen their performance or some feature is removed that we find useful, so we prefer to stay in the previous version without having to update by obligation.

To be able to do it, we will simply have to open the System Preferences and click on the new App Store icon, which, as in iOS, will allow us check for updates of any kind with the addition that now more options are included to have more control over them, for example, being able to automatically download those that have to do with security and the different system patches or leave everything else to our choice.

We can also see that we are offered the option of being able to download our purchased applications to other Macs in which we have our account configured. This helps us know what updates are available to be informed but with the exception that we will always be the ones who will perform the functions of system administrators without the system having to do them for us.
