Turn off automatic updates on your Apple TV 4

Updates-Apple TV 4-0

As many of you will have seen on occasion, software updates for the most part always integrate improvements in system management and resolve errors, however on other occasions instead of resolving errors, introduce other important bugs that the developers have overlooked and then it is the users who have to suffer "the oversight".

For this reason, there is always the possibility of deactivating automatic updates so that they do not install in the background without our consent and thus avoid being the guinea pigs with premature versions until they are sure they are working properly.

The way to disable this option is very simple, since it is integrated within the options modifiable by the user in the system. To do this, we simply have to follow a few steps:

  1. We will enter Settings on the system home screen
  2. We will move to "System" once we are in Settings
  3. Then to "Maintenance"> "Software updates"
  4. We will select «No» in Update automatically

As you can see, something very simple to carry out and that will save us some displeasure if the new version in question is not well polished.

In any case, it is not the case of the latest version that appeared for Apple TV 4 (tvOS 9.2) launched barely a week ago and of which we talked to you in this post, with improvements in application management and system stability in addition to the possibility of creating folders to better manage the home screen.

Some time ago we wrote another article in which we talked about how to disable updates in OS X Mavericks, although the way to achieve it has not really changed Regarding Yosemite or El Capitan, Here you have the link in case you want to take a look at it.
