If we were already happy about the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 4 in Spain with the 4G or LTE functionality, we have been happier when we have been able to verify that The Apple Watch continues to evolve in the right way, that of controlling our health.
Apple continues to take small steps as far as the functionalities of the Apple Watch are concerned and it is that as the updates of its watchOS system take place, more data we are learning about the improvements that Apple has included in terms of detection of movements in more sports or the inclusion of electrodes to be able to perform electrocardiograms.
If we look at the specifications that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), indicates with respect to this new functionality, we have that the electrocardiogram function has obtained the De Novo qualification in the FDA, which is not to say otherwise that this device will not cause harm to the user who uses it. So far everything looks very good and is that even the back of the Apple Watch it is now made of a special ceramic material.
This new EKG feature works by placing a finger on your new digital crown while wearing the watch. In less than a minute you will be able to know your heart rate and at the same time know if it is adequate.
However, not everything can be so beautiful and it is that, at least in Spain this new function will not be available until the end of this year or until well into 2019, depending on the agreements that have to be taken with Spain. So if you were thinking of buying the Apple Watch Series 4 just for the EKG, Keep in mind that you will not be able to use it yet.
We have to say that although they are not yet available in Spain for use, it does not mean that they are not fully functional. There are no different models with or without electrodes.
