The interest of car manufacturers in being able to offer electric vehicles has aroused the interest of many companies including Apple, which according to leaked a few months ago, is working on Project Titan to build an electric vehicle. In my opinion it is a bit late, since for several years, large manufacturers have been researching this technology for years.
However if we talk about electric cars we have to talk about the electric car manufacturer Tesla, which for several years, has offered on the market several models that are improving year after year in autonomy and in new functions such as autonomous driving added just over a month ago.
The founder and philanthropist Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, Space X and PayPal among other companies, has just given an interview to the BBC in which claims Apple Car is an open secret both inside and outside the auto market. He also knows perfectly well that Apple is allocating a lot of resources to Project Titan, since in recent months it has hired more than 1000 engineers, many of whom were previously fired or had worked for Musk at Tesla.
Musk doesn't care about future competition Apple may pose for his company, since Musk's philosophy has always been to be able to offer clean energy to the largest possible number of inhabitants and as proof of this, a few weeks ago he stated that in a couple of years, he plans to launch a Tesla model on the market with an autonomy close to 1000 kilometers at a price close to $ 30.000. Currently the most economical model of the firm can be found for 70.000 euros, so the possible number of buyers is greatly limited to a sector with high purchasing power.
What is clear is that if we take into account the philosophy of Apple, the model that goes on sale of the current Titan Project, which in theory will be released in 2019, will not be focused on the whole public, but rather rather it will focus on a market with rather high purchasing power. In addition, both Tesla and the rest of the manufacturer that are currently betting on electric vehicles are many years ahead of the Cupertino-based company.
why do you say he's late? Why do you say that others are years ahead? What do you know what Apple is doing? Did Apple have a smartphone or did it have a mobile phone for it before 2007? But there were manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, etc. that had years "ahead" and then Apple came out and beat them all.
The Tesla company that manufactures electric cars and devices for storing electricity, was founded in 2003, long before Apple thought of launching the first iPhone. In addition, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, released a little more than a year ago, the patents he had in his possession so that other manufacturers could use them in their electric models, in order to increase their autonomy. Currently, Tesla models have an average range of 500/600 kilometers, but in some models they can reach up to 800 kilometers and as I have mentioned in a few years they will be able to exceed 1000 kilometers.
If you think that saying that Apple is late in the race for the manufacture of electric cars is not based on any objective data, I honestly do not understand you. We are also talking about vehicles not electronic devices, where Apple has an experience well known to all.
