The exclusive Apple I auctioned does not reach a million dollars

apple i celebration

Last July we informed you of the Apple I auction with a special feature, since the motherboard PCB was light green, being a completely different model from the one Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs made at the time using different parts. This Apple I is completely different from the ones that were sold in series and it is thought that it could be a previous model to demo machine mode or something similar. So far we have seen Apple I auctions at spectacular prices, even exceeding $ 500.000, so this model could well exceed one million dollars, being a unique model in the collectors' market.

Finally the auction, for charitable purposes, has been carried out and unfortunately this Apple I has not managed to overcome the million dollar barrier, and has remained at 815.000. Despite being a charity auction, Charitybuzz, in charge of the entire process, only gets 10% of the price paid in the auction that will go to the lymphoma and leukemia society. Moments before the auction ended, a bid of $ 1.2 million was submitted, but moments before the auction ended it was canceled and the winning bid was $ 815.000.

Steve Wozniak himself wanted to help with this charity auction and offered to shoot a promotional video with the Apple I model up for auction. The auction began on July 25 and ended yesterday. The lucky winner will add it to the collection of objects that he has of the company, because if he has paid more than 800.000 dollars he will surely already have more than one or two exclusive models from the era in which Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs began to take the first steps that would change the world over time.
