Today FileMaker, Inc. announced the launching the FileMaker 17 platform, the latest version of its well-known and widely used custom app platform. This version incorporates initial Apps and master-detail presentations to make app development even easier. In addition, it also includes a redesigned FileMaker Server Admin Console and a new FileMaker Admin API to streamline the process of managing custom apps.

Initial apps: Get started faster by selecting one of the six new Starter Apps. Add more functionality to an app by connecting an additional table.
Master presentations - detail: Take advantage of new portal enhancements to create common design patterns as master-detail layouts.
Redesigned presentation mode: Create custom apps more easily with presentation tools that are more recognizable through convenient panels in the document window.
Mobility
Sensor compatibility: Using a new calculation feature, mobile apps can collect information from iOS sensors on the iPad or iPhone.
Configure local notification: displays a local notification on the iPad or iPhone when FileMaker Go is not running or is running in the background.
Drag and drop: Work faster by dragging and dropping text, photos, and files between iPad apps running iOS 11.2.
Administration and integration:
FileMaker Server Admin Console: it has been redesigned to be lighter with a streamlined user interface.
FileMaker Admin API test: Get access to the REST API to manage and administer FileMaker Server. The trial version expires on September 27, 2019.
