Firefox 78 is the latest version of this browser for OS X 10.11 El Capitan and earlier

Firefox

For more than a week, we already know what the computers that will be compatible with macOS Big Sur, the long-awaited aesthetic renovation that many users were waiting for on the Mac, and that drink directly from the design that we can find in iPadOS. Big Sur leaves out of updates to all the equipment before 2013 except the Mac Pro.

Mac users should start to worry when your computer runs out of receiving a new version of your operating system, since all security-related updates, unless they are very important, will not reach your computers at any time. But if we use our equipment responsibly, we can continue to work with it.

However, when it is the browser that stops receiving updates, things get complicated and a lot, since it is the tool that we have at our disposal to access the internet, with all the risks that this entails.

The last browser that has announced that it will stop offering support to certain Mac computers is Firefox, specifically to all those that are managed by OS X El Capitan or earlier, such as OS X 10.9 Mavericks and OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

According to Mozilla, operating systems that do not receive security updates have known vulnerabilities that can be exploited at any time, making it difficult to maintain Firefox.

In this way, Firefox 78 will be the latest version of this browser from the Mozilla Foundation that all users whose operating system is Mavericks, Yosemite or El Capitan receive. In this case, it is useless to search for another browser, since all of them are based on the questions to stop offering support.

Firefox is a browser, it is not an operating system and as a browser (application) is susceptible to system vulnerabilities. If the creator of the operating system does not keep you patching the security problems, they can do absolutely nothing.

The best browser for me. Hopefully they will solve the use of zoom in touchpad without installing third-party extensions.
