The war for the fastest and most stable macOS browser has long been leaning toward Chrome and Safari. Other browsers try to offer the user other features to differentiate themselves and attract customers with unincorporated or less accessible features. This is the case with Firefox. The fox company is preparing a new version that we will see in November, known by the name of Quantum. Before departure, it is incorporating new functions that make it easier for us to navigate on certain occasions, making our work easier on a day-to-day basis.
First, it incorporates a function that allows you to screenshot directly from the browser, without having to resort to extensions or external applications. The function is activated by pressing a button. Once activated, we go to an interface that allows us to select the proportion of the document that we want to keep or accept the suggestion that the application proposes. Once the corresponding adjustments have been made, we just have to save the image or generate a URL to share the image or keep it to download the image in the future on the Mac. These images will be saved in the browser folder for a period of 2 weeks.
Another outstanding feature of the new version is the ability to share tabs. After clicking with two fingers, we can select the function «send tab to ...» and choose another device with Firefox installed. We can even send it to our iPhone or iPad and open it as soon as it is received. This function can be executed in reverse, that is, from an iOS device to our Mac.
The latest news has to do with the possibility of fill in forms quickly and easily, similar to the Safari feature. It seems that this feature is coming to the US first and we will see it in Europe soon. It is perfect for filling out forms for administrative procedures or registering a service or a shopping page. In a matter of seconds, the complete form is available. After entering the contact information the first time and clicking save, each time you need to provide the address, telephone number or other parameter, Firefox will suggest the stored information. You can also have multiple addresses saved such as: home, work, and relatives' home.
