Apple has released a series of updates for its various operating systems and in addition to OS X, iOS and tvOS have released a firmware update for the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and Time Capsule base stations. From time to time the Cupertino company updates the firmware of these devices to improve performance and performance as well as correcting possible stability problems. A few hours ago the update of firmware 7.6.7 is available for 802.11n base stations and firmware 7.7.7 for 802.11ac AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule base stations.
Obviously it is important to update as soon as possible to receive these corrections and improvements in the performance of the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and AirPort Time Capsule if you are a user of any of these Apple databases. The improvements indicated by the company itself in both cases are the following:
- Fixes a bug that could prevent communication between clients within the same network
- Adds performance improvement in an extended guest network
- Addresses possible name conflicts with Bonjour Sleep Proxy
To apply this update we will only have to open the Airport utility in Applications> Utilities and we should see a red circle marking an updateJust by hovering over and clicking on update, the update process will begin and later restart the Airport or Time Capsule once the update process has finished. At least that's the way I did it on my AirPort Express when I had one.
The update no longer allows to connect with macbooks Pro i5 and i7
