FlipClock, a screensaver clock on your Mac

flip clock-2

Tired of always seeing the same screen saver on your Mac? There are many options for when our Mac goes to sleep it does not stay with that black background of origin, today we will see an option that it can be useful as a screensaver as it is very functional.

His name is FlipClock, and as you can guess from the name it is a 'retro' style digital clock that is activated when our Mac goes to sleep. It is one of those watches that give you the feeling that time does not pass for them, they are like ... very current, but the truth is that this style of digital clock is not exactly new. Personally it reminds me of those that could be seen in train stations a few years ago.

Simple and does not require any complicated configuration to install it, we can find it for free but this time outside of the application store for Mac. To get it we have to go to the developer's website and download it.

The steps to follow to install this clock as a screensaver is simple. Once the zip has been downloaded and unzipped, two files will appear in the folder, one called FlipClock.saver and the other README.txt;

Click on the .saver file and it will launch the System Preferences window directly together with a dialog box asking us if we want to install FlipClock for it. current user or for all team users;

We select the option we want and we have installed the new screensaver for our Mac, that easy and fast.

The only requirement for this watch to work is to be on the version of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 or higher.
