Fujifilm

During the days of confinement that we suffered during the months of March and April, many users were forced to buy a webcam to be able to make videoconferences from their Mac, although not all had the opportunity to find a model at a reasonable price.

At the beginning of May, Canon released software to be able to use some of its models as a webcam in Windows, but it was not until the end of the same month, when this came to macOS. Fortunately, this is not the only manufacturer that has bothered to add this extra connectivity to its cameras.

Fujifilm has just released new software for macOS, which allows use X-Series mirrorless models as a webcam, webcam with a very high quality and that have absolutely nothing to envy to the high-end webcams that Logitech puts on the market. This software, called Fujifilm X Webcam Tool, was released for Windows in May, but it was not until today that the version for macOS began to be available.

At the moment Canon, Fujifilm and Panasonic with the only manufacturers that have developed specific software to be able to use your cameras as a webcam, connecting them to the computer through the USB cable so that the application we use to make video calls recognizes it and allows us to use it as an external video source.

Fujifilm has expanded the number of X-series mirrorless cameras that work with your Fujifilm X Webcam software, with the X-T200 and X-A7. The cameras that are officially compatible with this software are: X-H1, X-Pro2, X-Pro3, X-T2, X-T3 and X-T4. Fujifilm X Webcam also works with all three GFX medium format cameras.

This software it supports Zoom, Skype, Messenger, Teams and other services that use a browser to make a call. In order to install this software, our computer must be managed by macOS 10.12 onwards, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4 GB of RAM memory.
