Future Apple Watch could have a heart monitor.

Apple would be working for get the Apple Watch to be able to take an EKG. The EKG, as it is known in the sector, allows us to monitor our body to detect heart problems in advance, as indicated by Bloomberg in a recently published article. The report tells us that the Apple device would be in the testing phase. Apparently, it would detect the activity of the heart, placing two fingers to the sides of the clock. The device detects the heartbeat rate, similar to a heart test.

According to a person from the organization:

A version being tested requires users to squeeze the frame of the Apple Watch with two fingers… It then passes an imperceptible current into the person's chest to trace electrical signals in the heart and detect any abnormalities, such as irregular heart rates

Obviously this it is not a substitute for a cardiology test at a medical facility, but it can show a first observation about how our heart is at this moment. Some users require a conventional EKG for day-to-day use, and the Apple Watch can be a great help.

However, according to the Bloomberg article, Apple could adopt this technology or scrap it if it is not accurate or practical. Let's remember in the past that the company would have considered incorporating glucose meters in the Apple Watch.

Even so, the sports and health approach of the Apple Watch, to differentiate itself from the competition and give the watch a differential value, is something that Apple puts on the table at home new technology that it wants to bring to the market. Probably another company with fewer resources does not arise and it is appreciated that it shows interest in these health issues. One example among many others is the application Apple Heart Study, carried out with the Stanford School of Medicine.

In order for Apple's plans to take effect, in addition to the technical requirements, it must pass the approval of medical bodies, which certify its usefulness. So we probably won't see it in several generations of Apple Watch.
