Gartner estimates that Apple sold 5,4 million Macs during the fourth quarter of 2016

Gartner estimates place Apple's sales in 5th place worldwide, which would mean that the Cupertino company has matched the 2015 figures for Mac sales during the last quarter of 2016. Obviously this is something unofficial and that we will know in detail during the next quarterly earnings conference on January 31, but in any case what analysts estimate is a slight increase in sales between this same period last year and 2016.

Gartner's results are quite interesting as they show us that 7,5% of Apple's computer sales during this quarter of the year it is half a point higher than that of the same period in 2015 And this considering the low sales figures suffered by computers in general, is good. Logically it would always be better for the company itself to climb more positions in this list of shipments and sales to get closer to the figures of Lenovo, HP or Dell. But this is something really complicated, in addition to the fact that in the case of the Chinese firm Lenovo the catalog of computers is really wide and goes through a price range very different from that of Apple equipment.

On the other hand, HP and Dell, which are placed in 2nd and 3rd place in this list, are still somewhat far from Lenovo with an interesting increase in terms of sales for this quarter of 2106, but not enough to unseat Lenovo from its first position. . As for Asus, we can see a clear decrease in sales and shipments that are dangerously close to the 5th position with a difference of "just 12 shipments more than Apple" during this same period.

In general we can say that Apple is still in good shape in terms of sales of its Macs despite everything. These figures are indicative and we must wait until January 31 to confirm them, but what does seem evident is the continuous fall in sales and shipments of computers, in this last quarter of the year it was 3,7% less than in the same period of 2015. The estimates that they show for this year 2016 (entire) in terms of sales of Mac computers, are not very positive either, since they would fall by 8,7% compared to 2015, but it remains for Apple to show the new equipment and see how sales evolve.
