Do you remember Geohot?. The 17-year-old boy who was the first person to get the jailbreak for the Phone ?. If the same boy as later hack DRM on the PlayStation 3 and then went to work for Google in 2014. Well, after staying away from cameras for a year and a half, Geohot is back to show off his latest project: a car self driving system. Then we leave you the video with the feat.
The video comes from an interview with 'Bloomberg', where Geohot says that he has been able to create a self-driving car in just one month. He used his white 2016 Acura ILX where he modified it to include a laser-based radar, cameras on the front y back, joystick and a screen of 21,5 inches in the center of the dashboard. The glove compartment acts as a computer hub and houses a mini PC with a network switch and GPS sensors.
Geohot is so confident in the self-driving AI he has created that he is going to offer it to 'Mobileye's technology', the company that supplies Google, Uber, Tesla and other major automakers.
Geohot is building a package with this hardware using consumer electronics, that is accessible to all, which will be better than 'Mobileye's technology'. He plans to put it up for sale with the cameras and software for just $ 1000 each for car manufacturers or interested consumers. George Hotz (Geohot) has also expressed that he is angry with Elon Musk since the latter offered him a job offer but after negotiating it for 3 months in the end it did not come to fruition.
Well I had commented a few months ago about an idea that I ve gotten while discussing non sense in a traffic Jam in Mexico City with a friend, what if the city would be a more live entity ?, I mean a City could be turned into a more intelligent Traffic manager.
This would be by telling or feeding the points of departure and arrival destinations of every car, this way the city would be able to manage the streets traffic flow, having a direct feed of data, it would be able to determine the circulation flow in its streets, according to acute departure and destination.
Today the traffic lights can be managed to control the traffic flow through a city, what is thing will make the city intelligent enough to make a better traffic management with this key factor and that of self driving cars, I am really convinced that blending this two parts will also give the city the data to also control the direction the traffic should be going through its streets, according to the hour of the day the date and many other circumstances, also with this feed back every car would be aware of the whereabouts of any other cars.
I rally hope that this concept can be understood and taken advantage from, I guess the one who knows how to read this will find this interesting, for my part I have no means to develop this idea, I like the way that this Ideas are being developed and in the future I would have a benefit out from them, allowing me some day in the future to be an elder person with more independence to move
In the end I don't know who is going to be listening and developing this idea, but I hope some one does.
