Google launches Chrome 58 without offering support for the Touch Bar

The guys at Google started working on beta number 58 of Chrome offering preliminary support for the touchpad of the new MacBook Pros. Being a beta, both the aesthetics and the operation were quite rudimentary. A few hours ago the guys from the Chromium project released the final version number 58 of Chrome for Windows, Linux and Mac, but in this latest version we can see how Google has not released the expected update that would support the Touch Bar. We do not know the reason for this delay, but it does not seem logical if Google wants its browser to stop being considered a plague on the Apple platform, not only because of poor performance but also because it does not offer support for the Touch Bar, more than six months after its release.

If you want to try the beta version of Chrome that does offer support for the Touch Bar, you will have to install the Canary version, version that is still in development and for now we do not know when it will arrive in its final version to the Apple ecosystem. This latest update offers us 29 security improvements, all of which had been made known to Google by users.

The beta that is still in development and that will offer support for the Touch Bar, it will show us an ESC button, the keys to return the previous page and the next, the function to reload the page, a search box where we can enter the terms we want to search for, add a new tab, bookmarks, volume control…

MacBook Pro users who continue to bet on Chrome, number that will surely be very small They will have to wait a few more months to be able to use the Touch Bar with the Chrome browser, a browser that has become the most used worldwide, at least within the Windows platform, with more than 50 % of market share.
