Following nominations for Greyhound and Wolfwalkers at the British Film Academy, better known as the BAFTAs, Apple with its Apple TV + service and again these two films have been nominated for the highest awards that are given in the cinema, the Oscars.
These nominations do not mean that they will take the precious statuette, but it is a great step for Apple's service that sees how the nominations in different events continue to arrive and this time the most prestigious without a doubt.
The movie starring Tom Hanks, "Greyhound" is nominated in the category of "Best Sound" and the animated film Cartoon Saloon "Wolfwalkers" has a nomination for the category of "Best Animated Feature Film". Both films have tough rivals to get this award but being nominated is already an award in itself.
And it is that we are before the first nominations to win an Oscar for exclusive content on Apple TV + and these although they are not among the main categories, it is a great step for the service. Surely with the passage of time Apple's video service adds much more content in terms of movies, series and documentaries, so it is possible that they may sometime be eligible for more important prizes in this type of events dedicated to cinema.
This new Oscars gala is the 93rd edition and It will take place on Sunday, April 25 we will see if it finally ends up getting the precious award in its category with these two films.
