Hide the menu bar in OS X El Capitan

The menu bar is a very useful element to carry out dozens of actions in the different applications, since in it we can find the edit options, save, preferences… However, it occupies space on the screen and we do not always need it to be active occupying that space.

For this reason, if our work normally requires us to make the most of the screen area, we can always activate an option to automatically hide or show when the cursor is raised to the top of the screen area. This time with the new version of the operating system we are given the possibility of being able to carry it out.

The process to activate this option is very simple, we will only have to move to preferences in the upper menu > System Preferences> General. Once inside the preferences we will go to the General menu and there we will see the option from «Hide and show the menu bar automatically».

Once activated we will see how automatically the bar will go down and up hiding from view and allowing the working window to be stretched a little more in the application that we are in and thus activate it whenever we want.

If we combine this option with the option to hide and show the dock automatically, available through the "Dock" option In the system preferences, we will have the possibility to work practically in full screen without activating the option for it.

Although it may seem trivial and of little use, it is always welcome to add an option to make the most of the available space since perhaps in large monitors such as the one that integrates the iMac or greater than 30 ″ this gain in space is not very noticeable, in other computers such as the 12 ″ MacBook any possibility of adding space is surely appreciated.
