Since Apple announced HomeKit Secure Video, many manufacturers are betting on this new Apple service. Thanks to HomeKit Secure Video, Apple product users can store all their recordings in iCloud for free as long as they have 200 GB or more contracted.
The latest manufacturer that has just released an update for one of its security devices is Arlo, a manufacturer that adds support for HomeKit to the security camera. Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight, a camera that works both wirelessly and through an ethernet connection.
In this way, this model becomes the latest model from manufacturer to receive support for HomeKit, after the update that it released in August of last year for the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2 models and the one that received last October the Arlo Ultra model.
Unfortunately, these cameras not compatible with HomeKit Secure VideoTherefore, we cannot store the videos on the Apple platform, although we can enjoy all the functions offered by the Apple home automation platform.
The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight security camera offers us a 160 degree field of view, Wi-Fi and ethernet connection, HDR 2K resolution, a light bulb of up to 3.000 lumens, night vision, two-way audio plus a siren that we can activate at any time.
Arlo offers a system of monthly subscription to be able to store all recordings on their servers. Presumably this system is profitable enough for you to maintain. Also, if you delete it, you limit your potential customers to using the Apple ecosystem.
