IKEA's Fyrtur and Kadrilj smart blinds had to be compatible with Apple's HomeKit this year and it looks like this is going to be delayed a bit longer than expected. Smart blinds are really great for any room and today offer the possibility of be controlled by IKEA Smart Home with its central accessories or with the Google assistant, but HomeKit still falls short even though they announced its compatibility at launch. The firm is now replying to a user about the HomeKit implementation and there seems to be good news.
This user will asked IKEA support directly about the arrival of this functionality and his answer was clear:
Hey @IKEAUKSupport when we can expect the promised #HomeKit support for the smart blinds?

The company responded with this other tweet:
Hi, the HomeKit functionality should be added to the blinds early next year.
Thanks,

This means that we are close to having compatibility with these IKEA Fyrtur and Kadrilj in HomeKit although we have to be cautious as it is possible that the update takes a little longer than expected as it already happened at the beginning of its launch. The firm would be working on the implementation but it remains to be seen when they end up updating the devices to make them compatible. We will continue to monitor IKEA's movements, although it is true that we expect their implementation soon.
