HomePod announcements, Dolby Vision on Apple TV 4K, iMac Pro, HomePod input sources, Apple's financial results, and more. The best of the week in Soy de Mac

One more Sunday the news compilation arrives Soy de Mac. It comes after a week in which, at least in the Canary Islands, the weather has not let up with continuous rain. As has happened in my country, in Cupertino it has also been a busy week and is that one of the things that have happened this week has been the presentation of results.

Well, without delaying the words, we begin with the compilation of the most viewed news on our blog during the week.

Last week, Apple launched the HomePod machinery, not only announcing the official launch dates along with the reservation period, but also, it has also launched the software updates to be able to manage the device, as is the case with the latest version of iTunes, which after the latest update released last week, already it is compatible with the HomePod. But also, the guys from Cupertino, have put in place the necessary commercial machinery so that everyone knows, that their smart speaker, or whatever they want to call it since does not reach the market to compete with the Amazon Echo and the Google Home, is now available in the market to take on Sonos, Bang & Olufsen and Bose one on one. For this, he has published the first 4 ads on his YouTube account.

Last week I spoke in an article about the problems that were occurring with the different brands of televisions compatible with the Dolby Vision and Apple TV 4K. The only company that has done its job well and updated its latest 2017 televisions so that they can make use of Dolby Vision is Sony, an update that has already arrived in the United States and Canada and will arrive in Europe in February.

Now, the story does not end here and is that despite the fact that Sony had released an update for its televisions, it turns out that they could only play content Dolby Vision coming from a via streaming with the system's own applications (Android TV). With any player connected by HDMI, such as the Apple TV 4K, it was still not possible to enjoy the advantages that this system offers.

Last December, the iMac Pro. In the last few weeks we have talked about its components and their performance. On the other hand, we comment on the ease of replacing them in case of breakdown or with the intention of replacing them with others with more benefits.

But a very important part, and that gave a lot to talk about with the presentation of the latest Macs, are the peripheral connections. It is true that most of the last Macs were portable and in them the connections have to be limited, but in any case, it is a recurring and important point when choosing our Mac.

The number of stores that Apple currently has around the world is greater than 500, a figure that, as we can see, increases every year and for the moment only decreases temporarily, when renovations are carried out in the stores that have been open for the longest time.

But in recent years, the Cupertino-based company is not dedicating itself to simply opening new Apple Stores, but is opting to create new flagship stores for all the company's followers. The last of them, we found it in Chicago, along the Michigan River.

Apple is preparing the ground for the arrival of the first units of the HomePod to their owners on February 9. If you go to Apple's US website, at the same time the HomePod with an estimated delivery date on February 9, several days after it can be purchased, a situation that has created uncertainty regarding the demand for the HomePod.

Be that as it may, Apple is clear that when it really begins to reach homes and its possibilities begin to be seen, it will sell fabled.

Two days ago Apple released the record financial results, in terms of the company's billing throughout the last quarter of the calendar year, due to the pull in Christmas sales. But on the other hand, the company anticipated lower results in the current quarter. This suggested that the share price could fall in anticipation of these unfavorable results. Almost 24 hours after the presentation of results, Apple's stock is at similar figures to the day of the results presentation. Analysts believe that the decline in billing for this quarter was already discounted from the share price.
