How to enable hidden effect to minimize windows in OS X

Aladdin effect y scale effect, those are the two animations that OS X offers us for minimize windows. However, there is a third hidden animation called Suck (suction) which is quite cool and, unfortunately, does not appear in the Dock preferences. Relax, with today's trick we are going to teach you how to activate this hidden effect to minimize windows in OS X.

How to enable Suck to minimize windows in OS X

The steps that we indicate below have been previously tested by us. We recommend that you follow the instructions as indicated below for the hack to work properly.

  • First, we open the Port de OS X (you will find it by looking in Spotlight).
  • Once the Port, copy and paste the next code:
defaults write com.apple.dock mineffect suck; killall dock
  • To check if you have done everything right, open a window and minimize it.

How to disable the Suck effect in OS X

But what if I want disable hidden effect? Very simple, follow the steps that we have indicated before. The only thing that changes is the code you have to copy. The first is used to activate the Aladdin effect while the second will allow you to recover the scale effect:

defaults write com.apple.dock mineffect genie; killall dock
defaults write com.apple.dock mineffect scale; killall dock
