If you use the Apple Maps and you have already identified specific places that you would like to visit, you can save those places as favorites in Maps. Thus, later, when you go to travel to that place, you will only have to click on the name in your Favorites list and then press "arrive". This can be really useful, especially when planning a trip with multiple stops.
Your favorite places, always at hand in Maps
To save a favorite in Apple Maps, you will first need to identify a location. In this case we will use the example that Jim Karpen gives us in iPhone Life, the Statue of Liberty. Type the place you are looking for in the Maps search bar or simply tell Crab "Statue of Liberty", and she will be in charge of displaying the map on the screen. Tap on the marker, and it will show you the location in the Maps application.
To add the Statue of Liberty to your Favorites, click on the heart icon, it is the fastest way to add a location to favorites. But you can also touch the Share icon at the top right of the screen and select "Add to Favorites".
A new window will open where you can edit the label of the new favorite. Click Save at the top right, and it will be added to your favorite places.
To see your favorites in Apple Maps, tap on the search field and recent searches will be displayed, the first item in the list being Favorites. Click on Favorites and a new window will open showing your list of favorites. Tap on one of the names and then tap on «get there» or on the arrow that turns to the left of the search bar, and the journey will begin.
You can delete or change the order of your favorites in Apple Maps whenever you want by clicking on the Edit button. To delete, tap on the red circle. To change the order, press and hold the parallel bars icon to the right of the name and drag up or down.
