How to ask Siri to play Podcast on HomePod

This past weekend for the lucky ones in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia, was the first to have a HomePod. The network has quickly been filled with reviews, videos and queries about the operation and playback of Music, Podcasts, among others. In Soy de Mac We are bringing you all the news about the Apple speaker.

One of them is the way about how to tell Siri on the HomePod to play a certain Podcast, subscribe to a Podcast that is in iTunes or the typical controls to advance, pause, go back, which until now we do with the Mac or an iOS device.

And is that we can listen to any Podcast on the HomePod from the Podcast catalog found in iTunes. The control of the Podcast is done in a similar way to Apple music playback. Then we will see the main controls. To begin, we must tell Siri, what we want to hear:

  • Hey Siri, put the podcast ...
  • Hey Siri, put on the latest episode of ...
  • Hey Siri, put on the first episode of ...
  • Hey Siri, play my new podcasts.
  • Hey Siri, what podcast is this?
  • Hey Siri, subscribe to this podcast.
  • Hey Siri, subscribe to…. now.

On the other hand, Siri on HomePod is listening to stop, fast forward or volume up or down, with these controls:

  • Hey Siri, pause.
  • Hey Siri, go back 10 seconds.
  • Hey Siri, fast forward a minute.
  • Hey Siri, turn up / down the volume.
  • Hey Siri, play twice as fast.

Like what happens with Apple Music, our HomePod will get the Podcast information we request from it directly from the Podcast app from our iPhone, iPad or the Podcast section of iTunes. If you need more additional information about the Podcast in question, you just have to go to one of these devices, where you will find all the notes related to this episode, Podcast or subscription.
