How to log out of iCloud on our Mac

iCloud

If we plan to sell our Mac, the first thing we must do is to eliminate any trace of our data, so that in case the buyer does not intend to start using it without previously formatting it, they do not have access to any data that is associated with us. Thanks to iCloud, this is a very simple process and it will hardly take us long.

We just have to log out of iCloud so that all the data in our contact book, calendar, files stored in iCloud, reminders, photos and videos and more are automatically removed from our team without having to go application by application.

What we should take into account are the physical files stored on our computer, either on the desktop or in any other folder on our computer, because they are not automatically deleted when we log out of iCloud. If we want to eliminate any trace of our presence on that computer, the best we can do is log out and later delete the user account, as long as we have made a copy of all the files that we have stored.

Sign out of iCloud

  • First of all we head up System preferences.
  • Next, click on iCloud, located in the third row of icons.
  • Next, all the data that we have synchronized with iCloud will be displayed.
  • If we want to close session and eliminate any trace of our account in iCloud, we must click on Close session, option located in the lower left part of that window.
  • Next, and to confirm that we are the legitimate owners of that account, we must enter the password of our account.

At that time, our Mac eatswill start to delete all the data from our iCloud account located on our computer, in a process that may take more or less time depending on the information we have associated with our account.
