If we are one of the users who use the desktop to store documents in folders, it is most likely that sometimes It has been difficult for you to find that folder at a glance, without having to read each and every one of the folder names. In order to identify them quickly, a solution is to change the icon that represents the folder.
Changing the icon that represents the folder where the documents are stored is a very simple process and also, does not require third-party applications, although we can also do it. If you want to change the icon of the folders that are available on your computer, so that it is much easier to identify them, just follow these steps:
- First of all, we must locate the image that we want to use as application icon.
- Next, if it is an image of a web page, we place the mouse over it with the right button click on Copy.
- Next, we go to the folder to which we want to change the icon and we access its properties (CMD + i).
- Finally we click on the folder icon and press the key combination CMD + V to paste the image.
If the image in question has the PNG format and the background is transparent, this will be shown in the folder icon, as we can see in the image above. If the image that we want to use as the folder icon is stored on our hard drive, we only have to access the folder properties (CMD + i) and drag the image to the folder icon.
