How to delete a bluetooth device connected to our Mac

Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology has evolved in recent years, which has allowed it to become more than just a technology to send files from mobile to mobile, as we did with our first phones, not smartphones. As it has evolved, not only has its performance and capabilities improved, but its battery consumption has also been reduced.

By reducing battery consumption, it has been possible to use this communication protocol in wearables, without both the consumption of the smartphone and the device be affected in no time. Years ago, the first thing we did to save battery was to turn off bluetooth, a process that we have stopped doing in recent years.

Bluetooth keyboards and mice have also benefited from the reduction in battery consumption of these devices, which allows us to use this type of accessories for many days, or weeks, without having to charge them or replace the battery.

When one of these devices dies, we sell them or we are simply going to stop using it, it is always convenient remove it from bluetooth devices that we have associated with our Mac. In this way, it will always be much easier to interact with the ones we use, without the list being longer than that of a child's wizarding kings.

  • First, we head up System preferences. If we have previously enabled the bluetooth icon to be available at the top right of the menu, we can directly access the bluetooth options by clicking on Open the bluetooth preferences panel. If not, within System Preferences, click on the Bluetooth icon.
  • Next, all the bluetooth devices that we have connected to our Mac at some point will be shown.
  • To eliminate those that we no longer use, we just have to place the mouse over and click on the X that appears on the right side of the name.
  • By clicking on the X, the system will inform us if we want to proceed with the removal of the device. Click on Delete and the device will no longer be associated with our team.

If we want to reconnect it, we just have to perform the pairing process.

Thank you very much, and does anyone know how to hide a device in airplay? I get the neighbor's TV all the time and many times I accidentally hit it. Thanks.
