How to Delete Files Bypassing Trash on OS X

el capitan

The new version of OS X that hit the market a couple of months ago, did not bring many important news. What if he brought they are small aesthetic and functional novelties, in addition to improvements in the general operation of the operating system, although there are many users who continue to claim that the previous version, OS X Mavericks worked better than this latest version, which is called El Capitan.

Windows users who regularly move files, we can directly delete files without having to visit the trash again recycling to have to free space on our hard drive. But with this latest version, we can also do it on OS X El Capitan.

The trash can is the last resource that users have to poder find files we have deleted or for any reason we cannot find them in their usual location and for whatever reason they may have reached it without knowing us. So unless we are aware that we want to delete the content without the possibility of recovering it later, it is not recommended to use this function.

To be able to content directly without going through the trash we can use two methods, through keyboard shortcuts or through the Finder menus.

Method 1

Using a keyboard shortcut, previously selecting the files to delete and pressing the key combination CMD + ALT + delete key. A window will then appear where you will ask us to confirm the deletion.

Method 2

The other option is directly through the Finder menus. Once we have selected the files to delete, we go to the menu File and select Delete immediately.

You have to select Menu «File» -> «move to trash» and, if you press the option key, the menu becomes «Delete immediately»
