How to get the effect of macOS Mojave wallpapers on any Mac

MacOS Mojave background

It is true that if you want to try all the news of the latest version of Apple's desktop operating system (aka macOS Mojave), you will have to take a risk and install all the beta versions that Cupertino launches before its final version for next September.

Among many of the novelties that you will find in macOS Mojave, there is one that has attracted a lot of public attention: it is the dynamic wallpapers that vary in hue depending on the time of day in which we find ourselves. What if we told you that you can now enjoy them without having to install any beta version on your computer? Well, like this, just as we tell you.

MacBook macOS Mojave

Through the popular forum Reddit, we can find all wallpapers to download. In the same way, a few days ago we already told you how to download them and enjoy them on your Mac.

Well, once you download them –it is a ZIP file–, you must unzip it into a folder that you have previously created. We comment on the folder because if you unzip on the desktop, there will be several files that you have scattered. So the best solution is to have all the images together in one folder - the location of this folder is the least of it; It will depend on your tastes.

Well, once this is done, you should go to "System preferences" and chop on the option «Desktop and Screensaver». You will see that this is the place where you can change your background image on your Mac. There is a gallery pre-installed on your computer from where you can choose the image you like the most or select a photograph that you have taken yourself. Well, the fact is that in the sidebar of this window you will have the locations from which to choose an image. It is time to select the folder in which you have inserted the macOS Mojave wallpapers.

However, and surely you will have realized by tinkering with the options offered by the window, there is small box at the bottom of the window that tells you "Change image" and next to it a drop-down bar that indicates the transition time before the background changes. Here you must choose "every hour". And, voilà, the macOS Mojave effect achieved on any Mac before the final version appears on the market.

Good tip, but only 16 images appear…. to change by the hour… they arrive at 5 in the afternoon and it gets dark.
