iOS 9 brought us the expected multitask up to our iPads with long-awaited features like splitview, that allows us to be doing two things at the same time in two different apps, one in each half of the screen, however, some users still demand more, for example being able to view two windows of Safari at once. But this is already possible thanks to sidefari, a new app already available in the App Store.
Sidefari, a "trick" app for Safari
iOS 9 offers us enormous possibilities and sidefari It comes precisely to take advantage of these possibilities and fill a gap.
sidefari is now available in the App Store for € 0,99 and allows us display two Safari windows in split screen on our iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4 or iPad Pro.
Its operation is very simple. Once downloaded and installed, you will only have to open a web page in Safari and, using the Share button, select "Send to Sidefari". Thus, with Sidefari in the Split View, we can see the two web pages of Safari.
In one half of the screen we will have Safari, on the other, Sidefari showing us the page we have sent him. Cool right?
I know that something has sounded strange to you, and that you already smell a "but" and, indeed, it is, because what Sidefari shows us is a preview of the web page that we have sent you, that is, that we will not be able to navigate through its contents.
As a solution to display, for example, a text on which you do not want to navigate, well. But for more, it remains quite limited.
Some say that as an alternative you can use another browser like Google Chrome but that in this case "the essence is not the same" because the interface is different. Send ...! Anyway, indeed the ideal would be for Apple to allow us to open two windows of Safari and thus take advantage of the split screen of the iPad. This we already know is not possible so sidefari it remains as an intermediate solution, a kind of "I want and I can't."
