Since Apple's new payment method, Apple Pay, was presented in the Keynote presentation of the new iPhone, has not stopped generating controversy. On the one hand we have the companies that have already joined this new payment system and on the other we have other services that make in other companies the new Apple system has been blocked, for now.

To be able to use Apple Pay, you need to register your cards in the Apple system, after which you can start using it immediately. Now, if for whatever reason you want to remotely delete a certain credit card from the mobile, you can do it from OS X through the iCloud web.

Thousands of people have already started using Apple's new payment method that allows them to pay for things in stores that have it active via mobile with different credit cards and different banks. As already announced, the use of Apple Pay is almost safer than using the original credit or debit cards, since we protect ourselves from the seller being able to see the numbering and the CVV code on the back of it.

With Apple Pay, each card is assigned a unique device account number that is encrypted and stored in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip that has been included in the new iPhones. Setting up Apple Pay is relatively simple, however, what we are going to explain in this article are the steps to follow to be able to remove those credit cards registered in Apple Pay remotely, that is, without having the iPhone in our hands.

The steps we have to follow in order to delete the registered cards remotely are:

  • Access your iCloud.com account from your Mac, through Safari headquarters, by logging in with your Apple ID.

  • Next, you will see that a desktop appears with iCloud applications and one of them is called Settings. Click on its icon to enter it.

  • On the screen that appears we are going to see sections that allow us to see our Apple ID data and also, in the lower part of the screen they appear the devices on which we have iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite installed.

Well, if we look at the devices with iOS 8 installed and that may have the Apple Pay method activated, We will realize that the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus that you have configured with Apple Pay next to it the apple symbol will appear next to the word Pay, «Pay»

  • Clicking on the device will open the information and show when the device was last backed up to iCloud, the last four numbers of the credit cards used with Apple Pay, the device's serial number, and the Device IMEI (only displayed for iPhones or cellular iPads).

It should be noted that if for whatever reason you have lost the iPhone or new iPad Air 2, the person who finds it cannot use Apple Pay because they must also authenticate with the Touch ID. However, it is not a bad idea that if we lose the device we will unlink the credit and debit cards from Apple Pay.

Updated: Keep in mind that in Spain we still cannot save data in Apple Pay. In the near future from Passbook it will be possible to do the action of saving the data of the cards that we deem appropriate.
