iTunes extends the time to view a rented movie up to 48 hours

The guys from Cupertino are making a move in recent weeks on iTunes and everything around them. Days before the presentation of the new Apple TV 4k, Apple removed any trace of the iTunes App Store, forcing users to have to turn to the iPad, iPhone or iPod to find, buy and download applications.

But it has not been the only one. Shortly after the new Apple TV 4k went on sale, the guys from Cupertino created a new section in iTunes where we can find the titles that are currently in 4k quality, an availability that today is very fair. But it has not been the only movement.

Until now, when we rented a movie through iTunes, we had 24 hours to finish watching it once we had started viewing it on a device. But for a couple of days, Apple has extended the number of hours to 48So we have two days to finish watching a movie we have rented. Keep in mind that the time that Apple offers us to see a movie that we have rented, 30 days, is not the same as the time it offers us to finish watching it, currently set at 48 hours.

Last March, Apple added a new function in iTunes through which we could start watching a movie, for example on Apple TV, continue on the iPhone and finish watching it on the iPad. Before this update, we could only watch those movies on the device we had rented it from, a feature that did not make sense but that Apple announced with great fanfare.

iTunes has become the only platform, if not the only one, where we can enjoy a few months after the last films that have been released in cinemaSince streaming video platforms such as Netflix or HBO offer us movies that have been on the market for more than two years and that in most cases have already been broadcast on television.
