Now that OS X Yosemite is available for download, it seems that the whirlwind of developers and applications that are updated does not stop for a single moment to become compatible in all its facets with the new Apple operating system, this is the case of Apple's own application for book publishing and that is none other than iBooks Author.
The application now reaches version 2.2 with support for new file formats and other improvements. One of them and perhaps the most important is that now it gives the possibility to import for Apple has updated iBooks Author for OS X Yosemite and has added support for new file formats and other improvements. The first of these is the ability to import Adobe InDesign and ePub files into a project. On the other hand, new blank templates have also been included to accommodate custom designs in which authors can now use hyperlinks to jump to a specific location in another book or add a link to an image, something really useful from the point of view of end-user view of the post.
Continuing with the improvements, the Widgets have also received an update whereby Auto-play is now available for multimedia content, Keynote and HTML widgets. Specifically, the HTML widget can now be use directly on a book page and the Keynote widget now features better transitions.
This update is free, without any additional cost and can be downloaded directly from the Mac App Store via from this link. The complete change log I leave it below:
- Importing ePub files
- Importing IDML files from Adobe InDesign
- Create custom books with the new "Blank" templates
- New hyperlink options, which allow, among other things, to link to a point in another book or link from an image
- Improved support for transitions in the Keynote widget
- Autoplay in Media widget, Keynote widget, and HTML widget
- Ability to interact with the HTML widget directly on a book page
Afternoon, and as always, to make more publicity to those of the manzanita for something that other applications on other platforms already supported ... Of course, paying more, because "quality is paid" ... yes ... you are from mac, yes ...
