According to the data collected by IDC, Apple has sold about 3,6 million units in Q2, that is to say the last financial quarter of Apple, from April to June. The firm estimates that this represents almost 20 percent of total wearables shipped during this time period.

In terms of ranking, Apple was right behind Fitbit in Q2 2015, when the latter managed to sell 4,4 million units. The company also estimates that two out of three smartwatches shipped in Q2 2015 was an Apple Watch.

Top Five Wearable Vendors

When Apple enters a new market, it not only draws attention to itself, but to the market as a whole, said Ramón Llamas, Research Director for IDC's Wearables team. Apple has become the standard by which other wearables are measured, and competitive suppliers that have to be up to date or ahead of Apple.

Oddly right behind Fitbit and Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is Xiaomi, which sells much cheaper in both China and India. Despite being available only limited markets, Xiaomi he managed to sell 3,1 million units of its wearable fitness. Other players in this scenario such as Garmin and Samsung were left behind as we can see in the graphic that I put above and in the image.

Apple is expanding to stores like Best Buy, where even as our partner Jordi told us in this postThey want to have more Apple Watch because of the great sales they are having. Even without going on sale through more markets, Apple is likely to easily sell close to 5 million units of your SmartWatch in Q3 2015.
