Last June it reached the iOS application store the Instagram TV app, also called IGTV. In this case, the arrival of the app for macOS users has not taken so long and for those who want to enjoy this app on their Mac, they can do it right now, although it is not an official Instagram app.
It is an application that allows us to have the same functions as in the iOS version but with a bigger screen (even though the videos are still vertical) which makes us enjoy a little better the content broadcast by the users we follow on this new platform.
Direct competition for Youtube
Instagram belongs to Facebook and what they want is to attack Google, the most popular social network for online videos, in what hurts the most. In this case, the strength of Instagram, which has millions of users, means that many of the best known youtubers who broadcast their videos on that platform do so. now also in the new IGTV app.
The presentation of the application was held in San Francisco last June and it seems that expectations are more than fulfilled with thousands of users who already easily make their videos in this application. In order to use this app, an Instagram account is required. The IGTV app for Mac is not official for Instagram but it is authorized by Apple so we should not have any problem in its use, in any case you know that it is not an official app from the developer.
