It seems unclear how long users of IKEA smart blinds from the European Union will have to wait to be able to enjoy HomeKit compatibility, but a few hours ago the Swedish firm announced a delay in its launch adding an apology for customers.
Users in the United States have already enjoyed this option for a few days, but it seems that here we will have to wait a little longer since it is not being easy to carry out this compatibility of a product that was announced a long time ago and that in this case will add a new delay.
Technical issues make HomeKit compatibility of the smart blinds Fyrtur and Kadrilj have to be postponed as well explained in this statement to customers:
Hello everyone, due to some technical problems with the last update that was released in the United States of America, we have had to delay the release of it in Europe until these errors are fixed. We do not currently have a planned release date, but our team is working on fixing it. - @IKEAUKSupport
These blinds add compatibility with the Google Assistant from the beginning so we believe that it is a problem of agreements rather than a problem of the device itself that many already have installed at home or of the software. Now what remains to be seen is when this feature is officially available here, we will remain attentive to any news that occurs in this regard.
