In 2018 we can have OmniFocus in web version

The Omni Group, to which the application belongs as head of the group OmniFocus celebrates 25 years developing applications to manage our projects in the most efficient way. Both OmniFocus and OmniPlan are 100% applications developed for Mac, although for some time, thanks to the portability of iOS, they have had a version for Apple's most portable devices.

Despite being increasingly cross-platform, the initial version of OmniFocus for Mac is still priced the same. This extra income is used by Omni Group to improve its flagship application and release versions for more operating systems. Thanks to this we have a version for iOS.

In 2018 we will see version 3 of OmniFocus for Mac, loaded with news. But we will have a web version. It will not be an independent service, from previous versions, as indicated Ken Case, co-founder of The Omni Group. It was created to serve Mac and iOS clients when, for various reasons, they are working with a Windows PC. This is a handicap reported by many users, who for various reasons have to spend a significant part of the day in front of a PC.

In addition, it will not be a complete version, it is simply born as a punctual service. All the functions are found in the long-lived Mac version. From the web version, we can consult databases previously created in macOS or iOS. This option allows us immediate synchronization from the web version. Predictably changes will be limited to: names of tasks, dates and the validation of their completion. Possibly an amount will be paid to use the service, yet to be determined.

OmniFocus is one of the flagship applications of the GTD productivity technique. In this third version a replacement of "contexts" by "labels" is expected. This action will create a great debate, as many value the context option as paramount in OmniFocus. Another novelty will be incorporation of new categories that add flexibility and better adaptation for the novice user.

Other news that we will see in OmniFocus 3, will guide the user to help him with scheduling daily tasks. All this will be accompanied by a new interface.
