In Lion we can use Time Machine without the need for an external hard drive

We continue with the news included in Mac OS X Lion. It seems that in Time Machine we will be able to make backup copies locally, that is, they will be stored within our internal hard drive.

Although Time Machine's purpose is to be able to recover our data in case of a malfunction of the main hard drive, this option may be welcome for those who do not have an external hard drive constantly connected.

It should also be borne in mind that this function implies that half of the hard disk will be used for making backup copies, something that may no longer be so beneficial for the user.
