InstaReel, yet another Instagram client for your Mac

Instagram on Mac

The truth is that Instagram is in a awesome moment, its daily activity is tremendous and good proof of its success is that there are already an interesting number of clients for OS X, InstaReel being the last to arrive at the party.

The usual problem

Instagram has a Pretty extensive API for clients, but it contains a peculiarity that absolutely no one is spared except them: images cannot be uploaded. No matter who you are or what you do, you can only upload photos to Instagram from the official Instagram application, there is no other way around.

Leaving aside this exception, the reality is that we find an application with a very careful design, that seeks to present the images in a clean way and that manages to bring the experience of using Instagram to the desktop. The application also has notifications (with a programmable interval, there is no push) and it gives us the possibility to hide the Dock icon, something that is quite appreciated in these types of apps that are not really important but that we want to have working.

The only problem that I have come across is that the application does not seem to be fully optimized as I have suffered from time to time hangs and somewhat high memory expenses in some situations, which has caused me to only open the app when you need it and not leave it open frequently.

The application is no longer available in the App Store
