According to a report from VentureBeat, Intel has incorporated a team of more than 1.000 people to build chips for the next generation of the iPhone. Specifically, Intel hopes to supply its chip 7360 LTE modem to Apple, and if all goes well even participate in the manufacturing.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have the features of the Qualcomm 9X45 LTE chips. Intel hopes that next year they will be able to provide their modem for at least some of Apple's iPhones that will be made in 2016. Qualcomm he is currently in charge of providing modems for all Apple phones.

Intel's LTE 7360 modem is expected to begin shipping to manufacturers later this year, to be rolled out later this year. 2016. According to reports Intel considers its association with Apple is crucial for your future in the mobile world. Obviously Apple is a very demanding customer with incredibly large-scale production, hence the need for more than 1.000 employees.

It is important to note that Intel has not yet fully reached an agreement with Apple. VentureBeat further suggests that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), want to create a Single chip for the next generation of iPhone, which would combine its Ax processor and LTE modem chip. Doing this would provide a faster speed, better power management, and therefore better battery life. It would also make for a smaller chip it would have more space inside the device itself, which could lead to a bigger battery.

While Apple would create the chip, Intel would take care of the production of the same through its process of 14 nanometers. Currently Samsung and TSMC, share the task of production of processors, with a processor of 20 nanometers. Intel would make them at 14 nanometers according to the report. Intel is also working on refining its 10 nanometer processor, in which Apple is very interested.

Although none of this has been confirmed, and it probably won't be until Apple officially announces its next generation iPhone in 2016, Apple has been sending engineers to work with Intel on this project.
