iOS and macOS will be close but won't merge

This has been another of the moments of Apple's keynote, when Craig Federighi, showed the slide with a "NO." giant making direct reference to the many rumors that said that iOS and macOS would merge in the not too distant future.

It seems that they have wanted to make it clear that this is not going to happen although it is true that many of the new tools will be compatible with both systems operating and that these will be closer than ever in terms of the functionalities they offer to those who use a Mac and an iPhone.

We are not going to have a merger as many of us wanted

The vice president of for mobile devices to report the Apple warned of a new tool to port applications from one system to another in a much easier way for developers, but in no case will the two OS be fully united. It seems that the tool will serve for those developers who want to import applications from one system to another such as have shown themselves with Apple News, HomeKit and Bolsa for macOS. These apps have been ported directly from iOS to macOS.

But this is long term and is that until 2019 these changes and tools will not begin to be implemented for developers. After so much insistence and rumors on the network about the possibility of merging both operating systems into one and sharing all the applications between them, Apple went to the step explaining to all of them the future plans they have designed for macOS and iOS.
