The shiny black iPhone 7 is not the most recommended

Apple Keynote: what they haven't told us

The iPhone 7 and 7 plus surprised us with a design that changed little. With very positive and amazing internal specifications and characteristics, and with a new finish for a specific model. Glossy black has arrived and we do not think it is the most recommended. This has been commented on by other blogs such as Apple5x1 and now we will explain our reasons.

The tone and color, as well as the visual aspect, have practically no influence on the operation or on the day to day. As long as we are not talking about hardware but exclusively about something visual. It doesn't matter if you have the gold or the black, they will work just as well and the photos will be spectacular, as well as their power. The problem is that the glossy black is very striking, yes, but in the long run it will cause problems. Very attentive to today's article. Do not stop reading.

iPhone 7: Design, colors and tones

We have more and more colors and shades to choose from. In 2014 we saw a sharp change in the design of the iPhone. A significant revolution for users of the Bitten Apple brand. We went from the 3,5 or 4-inch models to 4,7, which was already quite a lot and a surprising 5,5 inches. It was the arrival of the iPhone 6 and 6 plus. Leaving aside whether the large model could be bent or not, let's talk about its different tones. They were the same that we had seen in the 5s, but with a slightly softer and more pleasant color. A very nice gold, a light space gray and a spectacular silver.

Later, with the iPhone 6s and 6s plus they introduced pink, which was not bad at all. They also adapted iPads and even Macbooks to this trend of pink. Now, this September, with the iPhone 7 they decided to keep the design for another year, to surprise us on the XNUMXth anniversary next year. But they have removed the space gray and introduced two new shades. On the one hand the matt black and on the other the glossy black, which comes with a small notice. In a matter of two years, we have gone from 3 colors to choose from to 5, one of them being exclusive to the 128 and 256Gb models, that is, for the basic 32 we will not find it.

If from the beginning you were looking for an option with a lot of storage, you can choose this tone without problems, but think about it. There are some disadvantages that you should know to avoid surprises.

A dirty finish that can scratch.

Many media and blogs comment that it can be a tremendous mistake on the part of Apple to present this type of finish. I partly agree. On the one hand, it helps you boost sales today and attract attention, but in the long run it hurts the brand. It would hurt more if the iPhone exploded when putting it to charge or by giving them some kind of use, but this can also be bad. Apple itself warns on its website in small print that the shiny black iPhone 7 is more delicate.

Not that the phone is going to break or anything like that. What they mean is that it can crack or, better said, scratch more easily than matte shades. Gold, space gray and silver are not easily scratched or not so noticeable, but in this one you will. It is scratched and also fingerprints are very noticeable when you pick it up. On the back and also on the screen. The light models are much cleaner and give a more elegant image, in my opinion. As beautiful as the glossy black looks in photos and ads, if you wear it dirty or grated in your day to day it will look very ugly. It's a $ 800+ device, so we don't recommend this shade.

If for whatever reason you really want shiny black, we recommend the same thing that Apple says on its website: Put a cover on it. Although it is not an official of those so expensive, but it protects its case.

By the way, the Apple Watch Series 2 is also selling more and more models with dark tones. It seems that this year is the fashion.
