Who does not know iTunes U, is the platform that Apple brings to its ecosystem, so that teachers of any subject can teach classes. In it we can find: lessons created by teachers, didactic material, even grades of the students' assignments. But also: discussions in class or individual conversations with students to answer their questions and send them comments.
So far, we have this information in that "disaster drawer" called iTunes. And it is not to belittle the application, but rather an application designed for audio playback, it is currently used for everything that Apple does not know where to put. Well iTunes U, coming out of iTunes soon.
With the arrival of iTunes 12.7 (now in version 12.6) we will no longer have iTunes U available. To access it, we must see the content in the application for iOS or Apple TV. Apple is alerting content creators as well as users of the change from next September.
The first significant change will be that you will not be able to access the content from MacOS. The free audio content will nevertheless be available in the Podcasts, but it will not be possible to access the full version of the application from the Mac with brochures, contests, e-books, etc.
Apple has communicated it in its websites, as well as the pertinent instructions that users and content developers must carry out, to migrate to the new platform. For Mac users, we recommend downloading the content before September, to ensure that we have it available at all times. Even so, from Apple they assure us that the Audiovisual content will migrate smoothly to Podcast. Apple's latest recommendation for institutions is the conversion of ePub files to PDF.
The iTunes U output from the iTunes application is a hit. It is not so much that Apple limits access to this training platform to an iPad or Apple TV, because today, many of us prefer to carry a Macbook or MacBook Air, rather than an iPad, even if it is the Pro version.
