JJ Abrams to direct Apple series starring Jennifer Garner

In recent weeks we are seeing how news related to Apple's streaming video service are getting older. Just yesterday, we echoed a news item The Hollywood Reporter announcing the signing of Tamara Hunter as casting supervisor and from, once again, the Japanese multinational Sony.

Today it's the turn to more interesting news, At least for those of us who are following how Apple's new streaming video service is created, since according to Variety magazine, JJ Abrams will direct a series for Apple starring Jennifer Garner, with whom he had already worked in the past.

This mini series will be called My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, is based on the memoirs of Amy Silverstein and focuses on the life of Amy Silverstein together with the group of friends who supported her while she waited a second heart transplant. Karen Croner will be in charge of writing the script.

The role of the protagonist, Amy Silverstein, will star Jennifer Garner, in a project that reunites him with JJ Abrams, after the series Alias, a series where Garner was the protagonist and that spent six years on screen. At the moment there is no more information about this project, so we will have to wait a few months to learn more about it.

The JJ Abrams production company, Bad Robot, will be in charge of producing this series in collaboration with Warner Bros. Among the previous works of the production company Bad Robot we find series like Alias, Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest and Westworld. The latest projects in which Garner has collaborated are the series Camping for HBO and the movie The Tribes of Palos Verdes.
