Keyboard shortcut to call "private browsing" in Safari

PRIVATE NAVIGATION

With the use of the Internet and different computers throughout a work or leisure day we visit hundreds of pages which are perfectly saved in the search engine history in addition to the cookies that are stored unless we are constantly deleting the same.

To avoid leaving a trace of history and cookies, certain search engines such as Google Chrome have a direct keyboard shortcut to activate "Private Browsing" and others such as Safari have an option in the menu "Safari" a bit hidden, really.

In this post we are going to explain in a very simple way how to create a small keyboard shortcut so you don't have to take so many steps in the Safari search menu every time you want to be in private browsing, that is, avoid having to go to the menu bar and click on the private browsing option.

The steps you are going to follow to create a keyboard shortcut for this action will be:

We open System preferences and within there we go to Keyboard and finally to the tab Quick functions. You will see that in the left part of the window you will be able to click on Shortcuts App and once pressed we are going to add the shortcut by pressing the "+".

You will see that a window will appear immediately in which you will be able to select Safari as the application to which you are going to add the keyboard shortcut. As the title of the menu we are going to write as is with the three dots "Private browsing ..." and in the box keyboard shortcut we are going to press the keys that we want to put in the keyboard shortcut, for example Alt + P And we give "Add". The created keyboard shortcut appears automatically.

KEYBOARD SHORTCUT

In this way we have already created the keyboard shortcut to be able to enter and exit private browsing. Now you just have to try it. We end with a video in which you will also be able to see the steps that we have explained to you.
