Some keyboard shortcuts to use in the Finder (II)

With this new batch of keyboard shortcuts to use in the Finder We can now have a good time of entertainment to improve our productivity in front of the Mac. This is a complete list of commands in which we will find all kinds, some of them we will end up implementing in our day to day and others we will never use.

This is about being as selective as possible and soaking up all the commands that we can use in our work, leisure or simply when we browse the Mac. This second part of shortcuts closes the first article that we launched yesterday.

In case anyone missed the previous command article here we leave link. This is the another batch of keyboard commands for when we use the Finder, so enjoy them:

Quick function Description
Shift-Command-T Show or hide a Finder tab.
Option-Command-T Show or hide the toolbar when only one tab is open in the active Finder window.
Option-Command-V Move - Move the Clipboard files from the original location to the current location.
Option-Command-Y View a Quick View slideshow of the selected files.
Command-Y Use Quick View to preview selected files.
Command-1 View the items in the Finder window as icons.
Command-2 View the items in a Finder window as a list.
Command-3 View the items in a Finder window in columns.
Command-4 View items in a Finder window with Cover Flow.
Command-Left Bracket ([) Go to the previous folder.
Command-Right Bracket (]) Go to the next folder.
Command-Up Arrow Open the folder that contains the hot folder.
Command-Control-Up Arrow Open the folder that contains the active folder in a new window.
Command-Down Arrow Open the selected item.
Command-Mission Control Show the desktop. This works even if you are not in the Finder.
Command-Brightness Up Activate or deactivate the target display mode.
Command-Lower brightness Turn screen mirroring on or off when your Mac is connected to more than one display.
Right arrow Open the selected folder. This only works with list view.
Left arrow Close the selected folder. This only works with list view.
Option-Double click Open a folder in a separate window and close the active window.
Command-Double Click Open a folder in a separate window or tab.
Command-Delete Move the selected item to the trash.
Shift-Command-Delete Empty the trash.
Option-Shift-Command-Delete Empty the Trash without a confirmation box appearing.
Command-Y Use Quick View to preview files.
Option-Increase brightness Open the screens preferences. This works with any brightness key.
Option-Mission Control Open Mission Control preferences.
Option-Volume up Open sound preferences. This works with any of the volume keys.
Drag by pressing the Command key Move the dragged item to another volume or location. The pointer changes as you drag the item.
Drag by pressing the Option key Copy the dragged item. The pointer changes as you drag the item.
Option-Command while dragging Create an alias for the dragged item. The pointer changes as you drag the item.
Option-Click on a disclosure triangle Open all folders in the selected folder. This only works with list view.
Command-Click on a window title View the folders that the hot folder contains.

Clearly there are many more shortcuts for other tasks outside of the Finder, but if we can master part of these, everything will be simpler and more productive when we get in front of the Mac.
