It seems that Apple might be thinking about incorporate a haptic motor into the watch straps to improve the intercommunication of the smartwatch with the user.

The US patent office has allowed us to discover another of the new inventions of the apple. Incorporating the sum of eight motors on the watch strap, it would transmit different haptic signals as important information for the user. Thus, you could perform stimuli such as pressure or movement in different directions on the skin of the person while wearing the device on the wrist.

As we see in the patent sketch, the different haptic modules would be found inserted in the belt itself, would be connected to each other, and would allow a totally new user experience by allowing multiple combinations between the different modules. The main problem could be its cost, since this technology is still very expensive as it does not have a mass market.
We can predict that its use would be for the improvement of notifications and the way to interact with the user, and would have full integration with the brand's Watch. Sports apps could also get a lot out of this new idea.
