In his letter, addressed to all employees of the Cupertino-based company, Cook is very hurt by the events, as well as really critical of the current president of the government, Donald J. Trump, for supporting this type of white supremacist groups during his candidacy for the American presidency. For his part, Cook says that Apple will do everything in its power to achieve a positive change in this aspect to improve society.
One of the first steps will be to donate significant amounts of money both to the Southern Poverty Law Center as the Anti Defamation League. In addition, an option will be integrated into iTunes to make it easier to donate from your mobile for this cause.

"Team,
Like many of you, equality is at the core of my beliefs and values. The events of the past few days have been deeply troubling to me, and I have heard from many of you who are saddened, outraged or confused.
What happened in Charlottesville has no place in our country. Hate is a cancer, and it is not controlled, it destroys everything in its path. Your scars last through generations. History has taught us this over and over again, both here in the United States and in many other countries around the world.
We must not witness or allow such hatred and intolerance in our country, and we must be unequivocal about it. It is not about left or right, conservative or liberal. It's about human decency and morality. I disagree with the president and others who believe that there is a moral equivalence between white supremacists and Nazis, and those who oppose them because they defend human rights. Equalizing the two does not define our ideals as Americans.
Regardless of your political views, we must all be united at this point: we are all equal. As a company, through our actions, our products and our voice, we will always work to ensure that everyone is treated equally and with respect.
I feel that Apple has always led by example, and we will continue to do that. We have always welcomed people of all walks of life into our stores around the world, and we have shown them that Apple does not distinguish between sex or race. We give people a voice to share their views and express themselves through all of our products.
In the wake of the tragic and repulsive events in Charlottesville, we are working to help organizations working to rid our country of hate.
