Linksys routers will receive HomeKit support soon

Linksys Velop

There are some exciting news coming in about HomeKit this week and having a router that is compatible with the apple home automation is always a very good sign. It seems that everything is following its course, although slower than many users expect and is that in the last WWDC the company warned that it was working to improve the system. A few hours ago we saw a new patent with which the equipment can be integrated in a much simpler and faster way as well as connect with each other.

Having a HomeKit-compatible router can have a series of interesting advantages for users, and that is that it would protect our network from unwanted access with insecure connections, and it would also facilitate access to all HomeKit-compatible products. In this chaos the models announced by Linksys itself fall within the so-called compatible with the Wi-Fi mesh network and therefore the potential is much greater since this type of routers connect with their "satellites" and they do not leave places in our home or work without WiFi coverage. These are the models announced by the firm:

  • A03
  • WHW0301
  • WHW0301B
  • WHW0302
  • WHW0302B
  • WHW0303
  • WHW0303B

La Linksys Velop series has several compatible models once the update through the application itself. At the moment there is no release date to add this compatibility to your routers with HomeKit, but it is expected to arrive soon.
