Any Mac user will have wanted to change at some point the image that we have by default on our desktop. At this point you will know the procedure. If not, I'll explain briefly: Go to system preferences. Second icon is desktop and screensaver. By clicking on it, you will be able to access the default images. If you don't like the default images and you want to add a specific one, you just have to access the contextual menu to set this picture as desktop picture.
Now, In this article we want to tell you how to locate these images, but at the same time how to manage them.
The first thing will be to access the folder that contains it.
- To do this, go to Finder.
- Look in the upper bar for the instruction ir. Now, go to folder. You can also press the keyboard shortcut: Shift + Cmd + G
- Enter: / Library / Desktop Pictures
You will then access the desired folder.
In principle we would not have any need to modify anything in this folder. Deleting these images, for example with the intention of saving space, would imply not being available for this and other users of this Mac.
As we have seen before, it is not necessary to include the images that we want to use on the desktop in this folder, since we can select them without including them. Instead, you need to include it in the folder if we want the desktop image to change every so often. You have this option at the bottom of Desktop and screensavers, within system preferences.
On the other hand, we must access it whenever we want modify the image to fit a specific screen type, not just from Mac. We may want to have this image on an iPad or iPhone. Also, if we want to customize our Mac, we can always edit the image to give it more brightness, luminosity, intensity or turn it into black and white. For the latter, we recommend you copy the image to another directory where you can work with it and not spoil the matrix.
The most convenient shortcut is to right-click on the desktop (or ctrl-click left button) to directly access the desktop background change.
It is one more way. Thanks for the input!!
I would like to know how I do to eliminate these images, thanks
