Mac OS will never be the iPad Pro operating system

Apple developed the iMac operating system over many years, starting with the first Macintosh and going through the purchase of Next, Steve Jobs's company. Over the years they have been implementing features, modifying what was obsolete and improving it until today, where it has gone from OS X to Mac OS, a very complete system. Will they dare to put it in the body of an iPad one day? The answer is no.

Desktop versus mobile system

The bitten apple has always been characterized by working not only on one part of the device or equipment, but on the whole. Both in design, hardware, software etc ... Everything perfectly synchronized and adapted to achieve perfect products that make their customers and users fall in love. Starting from this idea, we must understand that Mac OS is the system of Macbooks and iMac, and iOS that of mobile devices: iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, although the latter, as I mentioned the other day, is about to disappear.

In spite of everything, there are users who believe that Apple should somehow put or adapt Mac OS to the 12,9-inch iPad Pro, since it is a very good screen in terms of quality, with quite powerful components and a size quite similar to computers like the current Macbook. Tim Cook himself confirmed that they were not going to do it, that the iPad would follow its own path and would be different from the desktop operating system, and I agree with this. Each team its system. I don't want to see an iPad-like Mac in any way, because it would not look good and would be counterproductive for both the company and the users.

Mac OS is not the future for iPad

It is clear that the hardware of the current iPad pro is very good and has overwhelming power, so much so thatand iOS 10 perhaps falls short for what could have been. I would have liked to see more functions and exclusive features of the iPad Pro that made this a complete device and that differentiated it more from the current iPad Air 2, which at almost half that cost of the 9,7 pro does exactly the same at the software level .

Even so, I say and repeat, that Mac OS will not be on the iPad, but it will undergo changes in its operating system. They may one day have their own totally different system than the iPhone. On the other hand, it could also ber that iOS is gradually being divided to give the apple tablets everything they need and increase the number of users who update their devices or who trust this product, and more so now that the consumer market for tablets is falling without pause.

What does the iPad Pro need to change?

No hardware. That is, you can improve some minor aspects and make small improvements, but in that sense it is quite complete. It is in software, as we have already commented on numerous occasions, where it makes our heads complicated. Either because of some functions that it does not have or because of the ease of use and file management that we are missing. On an iPad you can draw and design, but when you export that file or manage it with an iMac, or you use an app that uploads it to iCloud and syncs it well, or it can be a bummer.

Personally I think that in some of the future versions of iOS 10 they should introduce the improvements that we have not seen in the betas or in the keynote. It cannot be that it remains the same device for another year. I don't think the iPad Pro version 2 upgrade will be necessary so soon. Despite everything, it is said that Apple will launch it, despite being unnecessary.

Either way, the iPad will continue to have iOS (at least for now) and Macs will continue with Mac OS. Do you agree or do you think Apple will change its mind and mix them up?
